Paddock Lake, Wisconsin
Concrete driveways, patios and slabs in Paddock Lake
New drives, patios facing the yard, garage and shed slabs, and repairs to tired flatwork, poured by a local crew that already knows how this village handles the pipe under your entrance.
Paddock Lake is a village of two lakes, Paddock and Hooker, and of streets that drain to roadside ditches. When an old drive, walk or patio gives out here, the replacement is ordinary concrete work done carefully: a sound base, the right thickness, joints in the right places and a finish that copes with a Wisconsin winter.
The work we take on here
- Concrete driveways: tear-out and replacement, widening for a second car, or a first proper drive where there has only been gravel.
- Concrete patios and paths, from a square outside the back door to a wider sitting area, plus the walk that links it to the drive.
- Concrete repair: failed panels cut out and re-poured, broken steps rebuilt, and an entrance put right where the ditch has undermined it.
- Slabs for a garage, shed or pole barn, poured on a prepared base to suit what will stand on them.
We do not lift sunken slabs or repair foundations. If a quick look says your concrete only needs lifting, you will hear that from us rather than a replacement quote.
What a site visit settles
Most of what decides a price is visible on the ground: how much old concrete comes out, what the base is like, how water leaves the property and how a truck gets close. For a driveway there is also the entrance itself, which crosses the ditch on a culvert pipe wherever your street has one. We look at all of it, measure it, and put an itemised figure in writing so the road end and the private part are priced as separate lines.
How a Paddock Lake job runs
1. A minute online
Four short questions about the job and roughly how big it is. A photograph of the entrance and the ditch beside it helps us arrive prepared.
2. A visit and a written figure
We measure, check levels and drainage, and confirm which Village permits your job needs before anything is priced.
3. Permits first, concrete second
The pour date is fixed once the paperwork is through, so the crew arrives on a day that holds.

The Village rules at the road
Paddock Lake runs its driveway and culvert permits through the Building Inspector (Code § 6.03(a) and § 6.04), while Village public works staff set the height the pipe sits at. Its written culvert policy is more specific than most:
| Rule | Source |
|---|---|
| Pipe in the road right-of-way: corrugated metal, reinforced concrete or ductile iron only | Policy 5.4 |
| End walls of the same material as the pipe | Policy 5.5 |
| Minimum length 20 ft, plus six times the road-edge-to-ditch-bottom drop | Policy 5.12 |
| No filling the ditch to level the ground by the road | Policy 5.9 |
| Openings up to 24 ft at the street line, 30 ft at the roadway; 10 ft between drives, 6 ft from lot lines | Code § 12.04(6)(e)(4) |
| No construction before 7:00 a.m. or after 8:00 p.m. | Code § 12.15 |
The length rule is the one that changes a quote: a two foot drop to the ditch means 32 feet of pipe, not 20.
